  3. Hi Kristin,
I saw you on channel 2 news and am so excited to start couponing. We have a family of 7 that we need to shop for and with food prices the way they are this may just be our saving grace. Thank you for sharing all the information you have shared on channel 2. I also was so excited to hear what I could do with expired coupons, I had no idea. I do have a questions, do you ever plan to have a group class or presentation on couponing?

Thanks so much and God Bless!

  4. Kristin,
I like the confidence and professional image you project on screen. Wow “on screen” not many can say that, congratulations! A couple of questions, I didn’t try to find any answers.
    1. Where can I locate a store’s coupon policy?
    2. Do the “big savings” come from matching store coupons to a manufacture’s coupon?
    3. Do the weekly larger stores’ advertisements generally feature comparable sale products, to prevent drive by shopping or multiple store shopping
    4. What changes does a shopper have to commit to in order to benefit from larger savings?
    5. When I go through the inserts I end up with maybe 2 coupons how does gathering over a period of time increase savings?

    • Good Afternoon Catherine,
Thank you for your kind words. 🙂 This has week has been really fun.
      So to answer your questions:
      1. I will be posting links to coupon policies for stores in and around the Denver Metro area. They wil be up and running by Friday.
      2. The big savings come form stacking manufacturer coupons with store coupons, rock bottom priced sales and clearance items. Some of the best deals I have found were not in any ad, but found by just walking the store.
      3. You know, each store has different things on sale at different times. I am not one to drive to 10 different stores to get “the deals”, it doesn’t make sense to me. I typically shop at King Soopers, Target and occasionaly Walmart, that’s it. One thing to keep in mind is that Walmart and Target will price match any competitors ad, as long as you have the ad in hand.
      4. The changes I believe you would have to commit to is, pick a store or a few stores that you will shop at and be deligiently checking thier ads to your coupons. Know that there is a right and a wrong way to use coupons. Don’t use coupons to use them. Wait until things go on sale or clearance to make your purchases. Pairing a coupon with a great sale equals great savings! Don’t be brand specific or size specific.
      5. When I cut coupons I cut and organize everything. The reason do that is one, I have every coupon in case I find free deals on things I can donate and two, it comes back to #4. Don’t be brand specific, you will have more options with more coupons and you will find great deals on new products.
      Does that help?

      Blessings,

      Kristin

  5. Hello Kristin. I also have tried to learn and teach other the bit I have learned at Northern Colorado Savings Facebook page. I just started that page about a month ago and it is going slow. Would love any help you can give or if you need any help. Thank you so much for sharing.

    • Good Afternoon Patricia,
I have started the Abundant Couponing blog and the Facebook pages recently, and it is slow for me as well. It is just easier for me to meet people and talk to them, but I will soon have this technology thing figured out. I would love to have a couponing friend that I can learn tips from as well as share my knowledge. Please feel free to e mail me and we can talk!
      Have a great day!

  6. Hi Kristin –

I have recently lost my job, leaving my husband as the sole income earner for the family. I use coupons every time I go to the grocery store, but I know there is more I can be doing…I just don’t know where to start. Groceries is place number one where we are looking to cut our expenses. Any advice you can give me on where to start couponing would be greatly appreciated.

PS – I really wanted to attend the couponing class that was offered at Southeast in February, but it was my daughter’s birthday that day. Are there any plans to have another class?

    Thanks!

    • Good evening Crissy,
Thank you for sharing of your struggle. It isn’t easy for many out there right now. I am, however, happy to hear you are using coupons to help with your expenses. We are in discussion about scheduling more classes at Southeast and i will keep you posted. I look fore=ward to meeting you. Please e mail me at abundantcouponing@gmail.com and we can talk about getting you ready to coupon and how to do it for your family.

      Blessings,

      Kristin
